I have just started knitting a baby blanket this evening from one of my knitting books “Adorable Knits for Tots” by Zoe Mellor.  I am using RICO Design Essentials Cotton in White.  The pattern is basically formed from using combination of Knit and Purl stitches worked using stockinette and moss sts, working through the provided charts for the Heart & Star shapes.  I love the simplicity of this pattern and I’m making using two strands of yarn to make the finished blanket more weighty, and thus warmer for a winter baby.  Though the cotton is so soft it will be comforting for any wee baby.

I’ve just finished the first block of charts done – 3 stars and 2 hearts and pleased with the results so far.  What do you think?
