A friends little girl recently turned three and I made her this cute ice-cream sundae shrug. It’s a brilliant designed pattern with mostly garter/stocking stitch and a little lace and some short row shaping to hold your interest while you knit.

I was able to knit this over two evenings but I think if I’d made in one solid colour I could have easily made this over a few hours one evening. And with sizes from 6 months to 8 years you can remake this again and again as your little girl grows. It’s a great stash buster project too as it doesn’t take much yarn. Something Old Challenge

The Belfast SnB Knit Group are currently running a challenge on their ravelry threads during May 2015. You get a point for every year the yarn has been in your stash, every year you’ve owned the pattern and every year the project has been hibernating (if your working on a WIP).

I used one of my all-time favourite yarns to make this shrug – RICO DK Merino – this yarn has been discontinued so it’s painful to watch my stash dwindle…but it does make such a pretty FO 🙂

The yarn was purchased back in 2009 and I used 12 different colours so that has given me 72 points (12×6) for the challenge.

Other than this I’m currently in the throws of making several shawl (I do love shawls!) so the next FO post will hopefully be about one that I’ve managed to get off the needles lol. I’ve also baby knits to finish in between…so many knits and never enough time!

I’d love to hear what’s on your needles…

I love that wee cardigan. So cute and one I must remember!!!
Might actually add it to the queue!
I’m working on a year old wip, a pair of socks and I’m kinda hoping to start the late august shawl soon and maybe finish my dad’s colour work vest!
That’s what I’m thinking at the moment!!

    1. Thanks G! Nice selection of projects!!
My ‘August shawl’ yarn is at the ready 😉
